Navy renews contract with L-3's C2S2

NEW YORK, March 5 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy awarded a contract renewal for L-3 Communications to continue providing engineering support for several naval programs and systems.

L-3 says its New Jersey Command and Control Systems and Software division, referred to as C2S2, received the contract renewal for ongoing engineering and technical services.

Under the $187.4 million award, L-3 C2S2 will provide support for avionics, software and program performance among other engineering, assessment and technical requirements.

"This contract award represents a significant opportunity to support the Navy's programs over their entire life cycle -- from systems design to reclamation and disposal," John Medea, L-3 C2S2 president, said in a statement.

"The renewal of this contract affirms our 26-year relationship with our Naval Air Systems Command customer and allows our seasoned professionals to continue to provide exceptional support to the warfighter."
