CARY, N.C., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Lord Corp. says its will supply its suspension enhancement technologies for evaluation for potential integration with U.S. Army tactical vehicles.
World Technical Services Inc. is a prime contractor for a U.S. Army Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles mobility upgrade. Lord announced it has teamed with WTSI to evaluate its Magneto-Rheological semi-active damping technology as a possibility for the program.
Officials say Lord's MR damping system will be installed on an Army M1078 Light Medium Tactical Vehicle and tested to measure the technology's on- and off-road capabilities and durability among other evaluations for potential selection as a suspension upgrade system.
"Lord MR Active Damping Systems are well-suited for a broad range of military applications, from lightweight tactical vehicles to line-haul tractors and heavy MRAP vehicles," Steve Hildebrand, Lord MR Suspension systems engineering manager, said in a statement.
