DLA selects URS for logistics support

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Logistics Agency has selected URS Corp. to provide mission critical distribution support for a Defense Distribution Depot.

U.S. company URS received the re-compete contract to support the Defense Logistics Agency's mission to provide the Navy, Marine Corps, Army and Air Force with tools and equipment for ongoing operations.

Under the $29 million contract, URS will provide the Jacksonville, Fla.-based Defense Distribution Depot with logistical services including management and processing support among other requirements.

"I am very pleased that URS will continue supporting the Defense Logistics Agency and its many customers," Randall Wotring, URS Federal Services president, said in a statement.

"At URS, we understand how critical it is to keep American troops supplied with properly working, mission essential tools and equipment. It is a privilege that we have been chosen once again to support Defense Logistics Agency in this important mission."
