FAIRFAX, Va., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- U.S. defense company ManTech International Corp. says its engineering unit has received a certification renewal from the Software Engineering Institute.

ManTech announced SEI has appraised its Systems Engineering unit at its Capability Maturity Model Integration Maturity Level 3 rating for Development. The CMMI Maturity Level 3 is a renewed appraisal for ManTech marking a milestone achievement for the company.

Officials say the SEI renewal demonstrates ManTech's systems engineering and software products level of quality for government and commercial markets.

"Systems engineering and software development are key capabilities that we apply in support of our customers every day, across our enterprise," Lawrence Prior, ManTech International president and chief operating officer, said in a statement.

"Adopting and deploying CMMI processes has helped us to enhance quality and customer satisfaction and is an important discriminator for us in many of our contract bids."
