Ceradyne to support M-ATVs with armor

COSTA MESA, Calif., Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Plasan has contracted Ceradyne to deliver armor components to support defense company Oshkosh's armored all-terrain vehicle production for the U.S. military.

U.S. company Ceradyne was selected by Plasan to support its contract working on the Oshkosh mine-resistant, ambush-protected all-terrain vehicle production program. The M-ATVs are being produced to support ongoing U.S. military operations in Afghanistan.

Under the deal, Ceradyne, a technical ceramic products developer for the defense market, will deliver its armor components for the M-ATVs for future delivery to Oshkosh.

"Ceradyne was pleased to work in cooperation with Plasan in order to insure quality M-ATV parts are delivered on an expedited delivery schedule to Oshkosh in order to support our troops in the field," Marc King, Ceradyne Armor Systems president, said according to a release.
