KANSAS CITY, Mo., Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Honeywell has been recognized for innovation and performance for its work supporting U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration facilities.

U.S. company Honeywell announced it has been selected to receive a 2009 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for its support of the National Nuclear Security Administration's Kansas City, Mo., and Albuquerque installations.

The Baldrige award, managed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, was awarded to defense contractor Honeywell's federal manufacturing and technologies team.

"This is a very proud moment for Honeywell," Dave Cote, Honeywell chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"Our employees are committed to doing a superb job every day for our customers in quality, delivery, value and technology. Receiving the highest honor for organizational innovation and performance excellence is validation of this work."
