
STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Swedish defense authorities have certified software developer Blancco's data erasure technologies for use by the country's armed forces.
Finland-based Blancco announced its software systems received approval following an evaluation from the Technical Infosec Department Security Division, Military Intelligence and Security Directorate of Sweden.
Officials say with the approval, Blancco's erasure software, designed to dispose of information technology assets for secured redeployment or resale, can be deployed by the Swedish military.
"We are proud to have the prestigious customer relationship and security authority of the Swedish military," Fredrik Forslund, Blancco Sweden managing director, said in a statement.
"Gaining such a high level local approval ensures our Scandinavian and Nordic customers can rest assured Blancco have the best-in-class secure erasure solutions."
