SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Dec. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. company General Dynamics announced the appointment of a former Homeland Security Department senior executive official to its C4 Systems unit.

General Dynamics authorities have appointed James Norton to head up the C4 Systems Washington Operation's Federal, Civil and Intelligence Community group.

Officials say Norton, a former senior staff member at the Homeland Security Department and Environmental Protection Agency, was named General Dynamics C4 Systems director of homeland security and federal strategies.

According to a news release Norton was selected for his understanding of "the complex nature of homeland security issues such as border control, transportation and cybersecurity."
