ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 7 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has awarded CACI International Inc. a task order to develop and integrate software supporting the Common Ground Systems upgrade.

U.S. company CACI was awarded the task order from the Army's Distributed Common Ground System-Army Ground Mobile system program as part of the company's Strategic Services Sourcing contract.

Under the $24 million deal, CACI will support an upgrade to the Common Ground Systems with the development of software along with other requirements including integrated systems lifecycle management.

"For decades, CACI has helped the Armed Forces attain the greatest value from rapidly evolving technology," Paul Cofoni, CACI president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"With the value of our task orders now totaling more than $2 billion under the Army's Strategic Services Sourcing contract vehicle, CACI continues to provide critical support in countering global terrorism."
