
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- The U.S. Marine Corps has modified a contract with General Dynamics to supply additional Combat Operations Centers to support Iraq and Afghanistan operations.
U.S. company General Dynamics says its C4 Systems unit was awarded a contract modification for the delivery of 24 additional Combat Operations Centers, designed with next-generation technologies.
Under the $54 million deal, General Dynamics will deliver its COCs constructed with improved networked communication capabilities to support command and control operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
According to a news release "each COC comprises a network of workstations and servers supporting standard tactical data systems and other mission-critical software, voice, data and voice over Internet protocol communications."
