WASHINGTON, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Defense market solutions developer Alenia North America Inc. has named a new chief executive officer of its U.S. defense unit.
Italian company Alenia Aeronautica says its Alenia North America business Wednesday named more-than-30-year Northrop Grumman veteran John Young head of Alenia North America Defense.
Young, who has also worked for defense contractor EADS, will become chief executive officer of the company's defense unit and support ongoing efforts to expand the company's reach in the North American market.
"John's experience in managing complex business units and large strategic business pursuits will prove to be a tremendous asset to our company," Giuseppe Giordo, Alenia North America president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"This announcement clearly demonstrates our continued commitment to the U.S. market and I am also very confident that John will play a key and vital role in assuring we achieve our U.S. business goals and objectives."
