Alion to support DTIC digitization

MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Alion Science and Technology has been selected to support the U.S. Defense Technical Information Center's Total Electronic Migration System.

U.S. company Alion secured task orders from the Defense Department to digitize the libraries of the Weapon Systems Technology Information Analysis Center and the Advanced Materials, Manufacturing and Testing Information Analysis Center as part of a DTIC program.

Under the $6 million digitization, Alion will make the documents available through the DTIC's searchable, Web-based Total Electronic Migration System.

"The mission of Total Electronic Migration System is to put valuable scientific and technical information that is pertinent to supporting the warfighter at users' fingertips," Chris Amos, Alion senior vice president and manager of the Technology Solutions Group, said in a statement.
