ASHBURN, Va., Nov. 23 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department has contracted Telos Corp. for its continuous risk assessment technology to establish centralized information technology governance.

U.S. company Telos announced it has received a SmartBuy/Enterprise Software Initiative blanket purchase agreement from the Defense Department. The agreement for Telos' software and training authorizes military and other government authorities to purchase the technologies.

Telos was awarded the blanked purchase agreement specifically for its Xacta IA Manager and its Automated Message Handling System, which is designed to offer defense and civilian officials certification and accreditation automation.

"Telos solutions and services allow enterprises to conduct their affairs securely and with assurance," John Wood, Telos chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"Agencies have easy access to products that can help them to manage their messaging information with efficiency and economy, continuously assess the risk and vulnerability of their systems, and comply with the complex certification and accreditation processes required by individual agencies and reporting mandated by Congress."
