SAN DIEGO, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Northrop Grumman has received a contract from the U.S. Air Force to deliver its high-altitude, long-endurance unmanned aircraft system technologies.

U.S. company Northrop Grumman announced it has been contracted to deliver two of its Block 30 RQ-4 Global Hawk HALE UAS and three of its Block 40 systems as part of its Lot 7 production contract with the Air Force.

As part of the $302.9 million award, Northrop Grumman will deliver its UAS technologies along with a ground station and two sensor suites to the 303d Aeronautical Systems Group located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

"Northrop Grumman remains committed to providing the warfighter the most reliable and effective solution for their intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance needs," George Guerra, Northrop Grumman vice president of HALE systems, said in a statement.

"We are confident that the Global Hawk Block 30s and Block 40s developed under the Lot 7 contract will provide them with an unprecedented capability."
