RESTON, Va., Nov. 20 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted AgustaWestland North America to refurbish three H-3 helicopters along with other maintenance support.

AgustaWestland announced its Hagerstown, Md., maintenance repair facility will conduct the overhaul services for three Egyptian Mk-2 variant H-3 helicopters.

Under the $17.35 million contract, AgustaWestland will support the Navy with depot level maintenance services to completely refurbish the aircraft and ready the H-3 helicopters for flight deployment.

"AgustaWestland North America is honored to receive this contract from the U.S. Navy," Scott Rettig, AgustaWestland North America chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"I am proud of our team and our close working relationship with the U.S. Navy. I look forward to future growth and successes of our Hagerstown operations, as we continue to expand our U.S. footprint and meet the specific needs of the U.S. Navy and Department of Defense."
