NEW HARTFORD, Conn., Nov. 18 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted Par Technology Corp. to provide the 21st Signal Brigade with operational and maintenance support personnel.

U.S. company Par says its Rome Research Corp. unit was awarded the contract to provide its personnel to support U.S.-based Army Global Information Grid facilities.

Under the $43.1 million contract, RRC will support the 21st Signal Brigade with its operator level personnel to help maintain the Army GIG facilities in California, Virginia and North Carolina among four additional sites.

"The award of this contract reinforces the Army's confidence in RRC, as well as our team's ability to perform this critical function," Steve Lynch, Par Government Operations president, said in a statement.

"RRC is proud to continue their support to the 21st Signal Brigade providing exceptionally qualified personnel to augment this critical mission within the continental United States, thereby providing the Army the flexibility to deploy their uniformed resources in other more critical functions in support of the global war on terror."
