
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Nov. 18 (UPI) -- U.S. company GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms announced the launch of a next-generation graphics board designed to support ruggedized computing requirements.
GE announced the release of its GRA111 high performance graphics board featuring California-based Nvidia's GT 240 graphics processing unit. The GRA111, integrated with Nvidia's Compute Unified Device Architecture-capable GPU technologies, is designed to advance ruggedized computing solutions.
GE says its GRA111 will support next-generation military and aerospace computing requirements including radar, signals intelligence and video surveillance processing.
"The enormous potential of the general purpose graphics processing unit with its massively parallel computing architecture is just beginning to become apparent to developers in the military and aerospace field," Rob McKeel, GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms embedded systems vice president, said in a statement.
