WARRENVILLE, Ill., Nov. 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has awarded Navistar Defense a follow-on contract to deliver additional medium tactical vehicles and provide technical support.
U.S. company Navistar was awarded the contract from the Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command. Under the $348 million deal, Navistar will deliver an additional 1,928 of its medium tactical vehicles including troop transporters, oil trucks and wreckers among other variants.
TACOM also awarded Navistar an up to $78 million contract to support the Army's Navistar-built International MaxxPro Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles with engineering and other technical services.
"This award is an example of how we are constantly working to enhance and expand our offerings to position Navistar well for 2010 and beyond," Archie Massicotte, Navistar Defense president, said in a statement.
