SLIDELL, La., Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Northrop Grumman Monday opened its new installation in Louisiana established to address evolving geospatial demands from the integrated defense market.
U.S. company Northrop Grumman held an opening ceremony for its new geospatial facility in Slidell, La., in a move to expand its information systems sector and invest in geospatial technologies.
Officials say the new Slidell facility, part of the Eastern Louisiana Consolidation Project, adds to Northrop Grumman's two existing offices in the state.
"The capabilities available through this new facility, including Light Detection and Ranging, are at the forefront of the geospatial industry and are shaping the technology available now, and in the future," John Olesak, Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector vice president of integrated intelligence, said in a statement.
