INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted Rolls-Royce to continue providing spare engine parts supporting the ongoing operations of the fleet of C-130J aircraft.

British company Rolls-Royce says its North American unit was awarded the contract to provide its AE 2100D3 spare engine parts and support kits for C-130J military transport aircraft at the Air Force's Cannon, Dyess and Ramstein air bases.

The $8.5 million contract is an effort by the Air Force to ensure the ongoing engine readiness of the C-130J to support worldwide deployments.

"Ensuring fleet readiness is critical to Air Force missions around the world," Dennis Jarvi, Rolls-Royce Defense North America president, said in a statement.

"This new delivery order continues the strong relationship between Rolls-Royce and the Air Force. We are committed to delivering services that meet our customer's expectations in the areas of engine availability, reliability and maintainability."
