HARRISONBURG, Va., Nov. 9 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department has selected the Institute of Certified Professional Managers for management and leadership training support.

The CM certification offers management training that officials say will support military career advancement or the transition of military personal to civilian employment.

"Extending the CM program into the U.S. Armed Forces allows for military personnel to hone their management and leadership skills which are critical to security and defense efforts," Robert Reid, ICPM executive director, said in a statement.

"The CM program prepares military leaders for employment in both the public and private sectors -- a win-win for everyone."
