NAVAIR contracts for Tomahawks support

MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 6 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted Science Applications International Corp. to provide the Tomahawk Weapons System Program with technical support.

U.S. company SAIC was awarded the task order from the Naval Air Systems Command under the SeaPort-enhance contract vehicle to support the NAVAIR Program Management Air 280.

Under the more than $60 million deal, SAIC will provide the NAVAIR Program Management Air 280 with technical support for the Tomahawk Weapons System Program including engineering, management, safety and simulation services among other requirements.

"SAIC has supported the Tomahawk program through multiple generations of technology and is pleased to continue supporting this critical weapon system program in its evolving mission," John Fratamico, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, said in a statement.
