ROCKVILLE, Md., Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Defense contractor BAE Systems announced it has selected a new president of its U.S.-based Systems Land and Armaments unit.
BAE said Thursday it appointed Bob Murphy as the new BAE Systems Land and Armaments president. The position was recently vacated by Linda Hudson who was promoted to head up BAE Systems Inc. as president and chief executive officer.
Murphy moves to the president position after serving as the company's executive vice president of the Land and Armaments unit.
"Bob brings a wealth of knowledge and skills in both financial and operational management from his time in the defense and aerospace industry," Hudson said in a statement.
"He has an established track record in BAE Systems, having served as chief financial officer for our U.S. business, as well as in operational roles."
