IRVING, Texas, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has contracted Fluor Corp. to provide vehicle and fleet maintenance and other life support services in Iraq.

U.S. company Fluor was selected to provide the approximately 1,500 Army Corps of Engineers officials and personal with ongoing life services including billeting and facility support.

Officials say the approximately $80 million deal also includes support for 12 remote vehicle maintenance facilities around Iraq among other requirements.

"We feel fortunate that the Corps of Engineers recognizes our past performance and has the confidence in our employees to choose Fluor again for this important work," Bruce Stanski, Fluor Government Group president, said in a statement.

"Our team is engaged and ready to continue supporting our client under this new contract."
