SAIC to provide TSA with tech upgrades

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- The U.S. Transportation Security Administration has contracted Science Applications International Corp. to integrate next-generation security technologies.

U.S. company SAIC was selected for the indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to support an equipment upgrade for the Transportation Security Administration Office of Security Technology.

Under the deal, SAIC and other contractors selected for the multiple award will support an security equipment upgrade and work to integrate the new technologies at TSA installations.

"Threats to our transportation system continue to evolve and are more sophisticated than ever before," John Ferriter, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, said in a statement.

"We look forward to helping Transportation Security Administration rapidly field screening equipment, using every tool possible to address those threats and develop methods of combating them – this use of technology will help us stay ahead of those intent on harming our nation."
