MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 4 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted Science Applications International Corp. to support the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems.

U.S. company SAIC was awarded the deal by the Naval Sea Systems Command as part of the SeaPort-enhanced contract vehicle. Under the award, SAIC will provide engineering services to the PEO IWS primarily in Washington.

The task order, worth more than $160 million if all options are exercised, is for SAIC to support PEO IWS and its mission to manage the Navy's surface ship and submarine combat technologies and systems with engineering and product development services among other requirements.

"SAIC is proud to support the important mission of the naval sea community," Tom Baybrook, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, said in a statement.

"Under this new task order, we will help supply an enterprise solution encompassing a full range of engineering support services across PEO IWS' highly interrelated product lines."
