NEW DELHI, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Colfax has opened a Defense Center of Excellence in India as part of a move to support the Indian navy's pump requirements among other defense applications.

U.S. company and fluid-handling solutions developer Colfax says its India-based Tushaco unit has opened a Defense Center of Excellence in Mumbai.

Company officials say the new center is strategically located in Mumbai to address the local pump requirements of the Indian navy along with supporting other needs of the regional defense market. The center is the company's third center of excellence and is part of a Colfax initiative to establish a global network.

"These three locations have specialized staff, fabrication facilities and equipment tailored to meet the specific needs of the defense industry," John Young, Colfax president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"This is another example of our commitment to work closely with our customers, to provide tailored fluid-handling solutions."
