MARLBOROUGH, Mass., Oct. 23 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has selected Raytheon to provide network systems integration support for a warfighter experiment that includes more than 25 technologies.
U.S. company Raytheon announced it has been selected to support the Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment with network services. As the network systems integrator Raytheon will bring together the communication, command and control and sensor technologies of more than 20 companies for the experiment.
Raytheon says it will use its Maingate solution to link together unmanned sensors, ground and aerial systems supporting the AEWE, taking place at the Maneuver Battle Lab in Georgia in early 2010.
"As the Army's modernization efforts evolve, Raytheon continues to provide unsurpassed connectivity to support real-time advantage," Jerry Powlen, Raytheon Integrated Communications Systems vice president, said in a statement.
"We are providing simultaneous support of multiple full-motion video channels; robust, detailed situational awareness; command and control; chat; voice nets and call groups; and on-the-move access to web 2.0 applications."
