TSA selects Raytheon-led team

RESTON, Va., Oct. 22 (UPI) -- The Transportation Security Administration has contracted Raytheon to lead a team deploying threat detection baggage screening technologies at U.S. airports.

U.S. company Raytheon was awarded the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract from the Transportation Security Administration's Security Equipment Integration Services.

Under the deal, Raytheon will lead a team that includes seven other contractors for a task order installing electronic baggage screening equipment.

"Raytheon has more than 10 years of experience in providing the Transportation Security Administration and Federal Aviation Administration with aviation security expertise and innovative integration solutions that ensure safe and efficient movement of people around our nation's airports," Charles Keegan, Raytheon Technical Services Company director of Civil Aviation Solutions, said in a statement.
