MIDDLEBORO, Ky., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- The U.S. National Guard has contracted steel fabrication company Mound Technologies to support the construction of a new training installation.

U.S. company and Heartland Inc. subsidiary Mound Technologies was selected by the National Guard to provide the Army National Guard's new Regional Training Institute with steel installation and fabrication services.

Officials say the steel fabrication work on the contract, worth approximately $1.5 million, is expected to be delivered for installation at the training facility in spring 2010 following the completion of engineering detail drawings.

"This contract win is yet another testament to our ability to provide first-class product, support and value-added service to our customers," Tom Miller, Mound Technologies chief executive officer, said in a statement.
