SAIC supports naval warfare center

MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 30 (UPI) -- The U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center awarded SAIC with a $20 million contract for engineering and management support of a tactical support system.

Science Applications International Corp. announced the award by the Crane division of the warfare center in Indiana for support to the Wheeled Tactical Vehicle Support Shelter and Vehicle Automated Diagnostic System program.

"SAIC is pleased to continue supporting NSWC Crane's VADS and WTV efforts, which enable our Marines to efficiently maneuver by providing improved system safety, reliability, and sustainability," said Tom Baybrook, SAIC senior vice president and business unit manager.

The Crane division resources warfighters in special missions, information operations and strategic missions.

Crane trains advanced soldiers with special training in sensors, communications, special weapons and munitions.

SAIC is contracted to improve the mobility, reliability and safety of weaponized vehicles for the Crane division.
