LENOIR CITY, Tenn., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- U.S.-based EOD Technology Inc. won a share of a $485 million contract to continue security services at Forward Operating Bases in Iraq, including Baghdad.

EODT, one of the largest security providers for forward operating bases in Iraq, announced it won a portion of a $485 million theater-wide internal security services (TWISS) contract for security services.

EODT said its portion includes a $125 million provision for static security, K-9 services, medics and administrative personnel at FOBs in Iraq, including the Baghdad area.

"We are pleased to continue providing the highest level of security for our military men and women serving at the Forward Operating Bases in Iraq, and we look forward to a seamless transition into the second contract," said Matt Kaye, president and chief operating officer of EODT.

EODT has operated in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003, performing security, mission support and munitions response operations under its contracts with the U.S. Army.

The company received its first TWISS contract in 2007. The second contract will take effect later in 2009 and extend through 2011, the company said.
