
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization has contracted Science Applications International Corp. for technical support.
U.S. company SAIC announced it has been selected for an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to provide technical and operational support services for JIEDDO.
Under the IDIQ, worth $494 million for all awardees selected, SAIC will compete for task orders to support the JIEDDO operations, intelligence and logistics for counter-improvised explosive devices initiatives among other requirements.
"We are pleased to support JIEDDO with our analytical, defense, and technological expertise as it leads, advocates, and coordinates Department of Defense efforts to defeat IEDs as weapons of strategic influence," Beverly Seay, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, said in a statement.
