
COSTA MESA, Calif., Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Defense Supply Center Philadelphia has contracted Ceradyne Inc. to deliver its Enhanced Small Arms Protective Inserts.
U.S. company Ceradyne, a developer of advanced technical ceramic products for the defense market among others, was awarded the delivery order under its three-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity.
Under the $8 million award, Ceradyne will deliver its ESAPI technologies to support ongoing efforts to protect U.S. troops from threats.
"We are very pleased to have received this order and will continue to ship this ESAPI product on time with the high standards of quality required," David Reed, Ceradyne North American operations president, said in a statement.
"The government ordered the maximum quantity on this contract and this delivery order closes the contract."
