Navy contracts for data recording tech

TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 15 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted Sypris Solutions Inc. to support an Anti-Submarine Warfare Analysis System with its data recording technologies.

U.S. company Sypris says its Electronics unit was awarded the contract from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic. Under the approximately $10.5 million deal, Sypris will deliver its Model 101e data recording systems.

Officials say the Model 101e data recording systems were ordered to support the Navy's Anti-Submarine Warfare Analysis System as part of the Tactical Mobile Acoustic Support Systems.

"Sypris is committed to the long-term support of key armed services programs and has supplied technological solutions for the Navy's Anti-Submarine Warfare Systems for over 30 years," John Walsh, Sypris Electronics president, said in a statement.

"This award further demonstrates our commitment to the defense community."
