PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted Eid Passport Inc. to integrate its access control system at Naval Base Ventura County in southern California.
Oregon-based Eid Passport was awarded the contract to implement its RAPIDGate Program at Naval Base Ventura County. The identity management program, part of an effort to strength security, is expected to be implemented at Naval Base Ventura County including Point Mugu, Port Hueneme, and San Nicholas Island.
Eid Passport says the RAPIDGate Program streamlines access for vendors and other contractors who regularly access the base. As part of the program the contractors undergo a background screening and biometric verification to ensure valid identification at Naval Base Ventura County.
"We are very pleased to provide Naval Base Ventura County with the RAPIDGate Program," Eid Passport Chief Executive Officer Steve Larson said in a statement.
"As a major aviation shore command and a Naval Construction Force mobilization base, Naval Base Ventura County is of critical importance to our national security and we are proud they have chosen the RAPIDGate Program to further enhance identity management and access control procedures for accessing the base."
