
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- U.S. company Lockheed Martin has contracted MorphoTrak to support a new identification system for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Virginia-based identity management solutions developer MorphoTrak was selected by Lockheed Martin to join its team supporting the FBI's Next Generation Identification system.
Under the deal MorphoTrak will supply its fingerprint identification technologies to support the identification initiative involving the core biometric processing and matching capability among other requirements.
"We are very pleased to be a part of the team, led by Lockheed Martin, which will work with the FBI in upgrading their identification services," Daniel Vassy, MorphoTrak chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"This fresh initiative will significantly expand the capabilities of the FBI's identification system, delivering increased speed, accuracy and capacity."
