MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- U.S. defense contractor Honeywell announced it has selected a new head of its Arizona-based Aerospace business unit.
Officials at Honeywell have promoted the Aerospace unit's current chief technology officer, Tim Mahoney, to become the new president and chief executive officer. Mahoney, who was in charge of new product development and research as CTO, will take over for Rob Gillette.
While heading up Honeywell Aerospace, an $11 billion business unit, Mahoney will report to Honeywell Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dave Cote.
"Tim has more than 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry and is uniquely qualified to make a seamless transition to president and CEO of Honeywell Aerospace," Cote said in a statement.
The announced leadership transition is expected to take place immediately.
