ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 31 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department has contracted CACI International Inc. to continue its support for counter-improvised explosive devise initiatives.
U.S. company CACI announced its Wexford Group International unit was awarded a prime contract to support the Defense Department's Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization.
Under the indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract, worth approximately $494 million to the five awardees, CACI will continue to expand its integrated security and intelligence solutions to support efforts in countering IEDs.
"This work with the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization offers CACI an exceptional opportunity to continue our significant support for this critically important Department of Defense organization," Bill Fairl, CACI U.S. Operations president, said in a statement.
"We're extremely proud of our employees who help Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization accomplish its mission of defeating threats to our nation's service members serving in harm's way."
