HERNDON, Va., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted Trusted Computer Solutions Inc. to deliver its cross domain data security systems to support realistic training simulations.
U.S. company TCS was awarded the contract from the Air Force in Europe Warrior Preparation Center. Under the deal, TCS will deliver its SimShield cross domain technology to support warfighter simulation training.
The SimShield was selected to help secure the operational and tactical level training that requires the use of classified data. Officials say the Warrior Preparation Center will use SimShield's Distributive Interactive Simulation protocol to support "simulated war gaming across multiple host computers," a release said.
"Having recently received Secret and Below Interoperability certification with the Pacific Air Force training range for the Red Flag Alaska program, SimShield is becoming widely recognized by our nation's military as an effective simulation training tool," Ed Hammersla, TCS chief operating officer, said in a statement.
"Our expertise in providing cross domain solutions that meet the high standards of the Department of Defense effectively prepares our military for battle should they be called to action."
