SAN DIEGO, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has awarded Science Applications International Corp. a follow-on contract to continue providing combat systems engineering support services.
U.S. company SAIC was awarded the contract from the Virginia-based Naval Surface Warfare Center-Dahlgren Division as part of the Naval Sea Systems Command SeaPort-enhanced contract vehicle.
Under the $49 million deal, SAIC will provide engineering and analysis work helping the Naval Surface Warfare Center-Dahlgren with research and development on combat systems among other requirements.
"For more than 19 years, SAIC has supported Naval Surface Warfare Center-Dahlgren," Tom Baybrook, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, said in a statement.
"We look forward to expanding our relationship with this important customer by providing quality engineering services and technical expertise in critical warfare areas that affect combat systems across the surface Navy enterprise."
