NEW HARTFORD, Conn., Aug. 18 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted Rome Research Corp. to support the Landstuhl, Germany-based Global Information Grid facility.

RRC, a subsidiary of PAR Technology, was selected by the Army to provide the Global Information Grid with satellite communication operations and maintenance support for the teleport commercial and military satellite terminals.

As part of the $23.2 million deal, RRC will support the Defense Satellite Communications System, Standardized Tactical Entry Point, and the Ka-Band Satellite Transmit and Receive System among other requirements.

"The contract award for the Landstuhl SATCOM facility operations and maintenance is an important win for Rome Research as it again validates our excellence in providing information technology services for the Army and U.S. military," Steve Lynch, PAR Government Operations president, said in a statement.

"With this selection by the Army, we have once again proven our clear understanding of our customer's requirements and expectations."
