
ALEXANDRIA, Egypt, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- VSE Corp. has been selected to provide the Egyptian navy with engineering and training assistance for docked naval vessels and also vessels at sea.
U.S. company VSE says its International Group's Global Division was awarded the follow-on contract. Under the 32.8 million in-country technical assist award, VSE will provide support for the Egyptian navy's ships transferred from the U.S. Navy.
The contract work, expected to take place in Alexandria, Egypt, also includes engineering, training and logistics support among other services for the Egyptian navy's foreign military sales programs and other requirements.
"We are excited to continue our productive working relationship with the Egyptian navy that has allowed for successful training and implementation of various functions and services essential to effective fleet development and sustainment," Mike Hamerly, VSE International Group president, said in a statement.
