
LAS VEGAS, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- U.S. company Powerwave Technologies Inc. has unveiled its new compact mobile communication technology designed to support public safety authorities.
Powerwave Technologies Monday introduced its Rapid Mobile Deployment Unit. The RMDU, released at the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International annual conference, is a mobile communications site designed to be quickly deployable.
Officials say the RMDU provides a wireless capacity to support high concurrent call volume and data access supporting emergency response requirements for wireless communications.
"The product is highly customizable and remarkably flexible to meet the needs of a wide range of applications, from disaster recovery and command center operations to military communications," Khurram Sheikh, Powerwave Technologies chief product and development officer, said in a statement.
