GERMANTOWN, Md., Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Hughes Network Systems and Ultra Electronics Tactical Communication Systems have partnered to demonstrate a communication with advanced connectivity.
Hughes and Ultra TCS unveiled a joint tactical communications solution for the military market designed to keep soldiers connected in mountainous or difficult terrain environments.
The communication technology, being demonstrated at the LandWarNet 2009 conference taking place through Friday in Florida, combines Ultra TCS' High Capacity Line-of-Sight radio communication system with Hughes' beyond-line-of-sight satellite communication technologies.
"We are pleased to partner with Hughes in demonstrating to United States and coalition forces a commercially-proven product combined with our combat-proven High Capacity Line-of-Sight radio to provide range extension capability in a small transit case," Iwan Jemczyk, Ultra TCS president, said in a statement.
