ROANOKE, Va., Aug. 13 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has awarded ITT Corp. a follow-on contract for the delivery of additional night-vision goggles to support future battlefield requirements.
ITT says its Virginia-based Night Vision unit was awarded the follow-on contract from the Army Research, Development and Engineering Command Acquisition Center. Under the $43 million deal, ITT will deliver another order of its Enhanced Night Vision Goggle technologies.
The contract, which also includes associated spare parts, is an initiative by the Army to equip soldiers with night-vision goggles that intensify images to improve situational awareness.
"Our unmatched capability, technology and customer support are at the heart of these most recent awards," Mike Hayman, ITT Night Vision president, said in a statement.
"By continuing to deliver the industry's most advanced night vision goggle, we are providing our warfighters with unrivalled capabilities required for current and future battlefield operations."
