WILMINGTON, Mass., Aug. 12 (UPI) -- U.S. company Textron Systems has combined two of its operating units in a move to address evolving U.S. defense and intelligence requirements.
Textron announced it has combined its Overwatch Geospatial Systems and Overwatch Tactical Operations as part of an effort to offer more powerful and integrated multi-source intelligence solutions.
Textron says the new unit, called Overwatch, is expected to work with the U.S. military, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and other international customers on their evolving intelligence requirements.
"This combination brings together two Textron Systems operations that provide leading intelligence solutions currently being used by decision-makers and intelligence analysts as well as our war fighters and first responders," Frank Tempesta, Textron Systems president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
