SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Proximex has been selected by authorities at the Port of Long Beach in California to provide the port's Command and Control Center with security technologies.
U.S. company and physical security information management technologies developer Proximex has been contracted to install its Surveillint system, a technology designed to integrate as many as 14 disparate surveillance and security systems, at the Port of Long Beach Command and Control Center.
Officials from the Port of Long Beach, the second busiest seaport in the United States, say Proximex's Surveillint system beat out other technologies after passing a technical evaluation and meeting other requirements.
"Surveillint won the technical evaluation and provided the most extensive list of commercially off-the-shelf security technology integrations and expertise for our environment," Michael McMullen, lead program manager for the Port of Long Beach, said in a statement.
"At the same time, Proximex offered the most cost-effective solution for our needs. It's designed to integrate all of our existing technologies today, and it's (designed) for additional technologies to be added as soon as the Port adopts them."
