MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted Alliant Techsystems to deliver ammunition to support the AH-64D Apache attack helicopter.
Minneapolis-based ATK, a developer of integrated medium-caliber systems including cannons, ammunition and electronics among other weapons technologies, was awarded the contract from the Army Contracting Command based at the Rock Island Contracting Center in Illinois.
Under the $86 million deal, ATK will deliver its lightweight 30mm M789 High Explosive Dual Purpose tactical munitions.
The M789 tactical ammunition will be delivered by ATK's Minnesota and West Virginia facilities to support the AH-64D Apache attack helicopter.
