GE to support NAVSEA inspection process

BILLERICA, Mass., July 28 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted GE Sensing and Inspection Technologies to provide visual inspection technologies and training services.

U.S. company GE was contracted to support the Naval Sea Systems Command with training services and its XL G3 VideoProbes outfitted with Menu Driven Inspection software.

The contract award is part of an effort to provide NAVSEA inspection teams supporting the Atlantic and Pacific naval fleets with GE's technologies and training services to help standardize the inspection process by increasing accuracy and efficiency.

"Our solutions provide NAVSEA the right combination of hardware and software that will increase efficiency and productivity across a range of inspection needs," Jeff Anderson, GE Sensing and Inspection Technologies general manager -- inspection, said in a statement.

"Our Menu Driven Inspection software that comes with the XL G3 allows inspection groups to easily manage inspection data, which helps shorten a ship's time at dock for maintenance."
